The water polo club was founded by the Hoffman family in the 2012-13 school year. Gene Hoffman and his family worked diligently to gather players and bring the sport of water polo to Northshore.
It was a tough road, the school district had some struggles with WIAA vs Non-WIAA sports. They lumped the sports team into 'ASB Clubs' so thus forward we were not considered a sport.
Over the last several years it was a battle with the district to help them realize we are a sport. This year, 2016-17, with the help of Superintendent Dr. Reid, we are officially a sport.
The families living in the Inglemoor feeder pattern, plus families waivered into Inglemoor, made up the sports team. Families living in Kenmore, but attending outside schools without a water polo team, were also welcome to play.
A non-profit organization was created, executive members were elected, and players joined. There have been several places that the teams have practiced at, St. Edwards, Gold's Gym, and finally Aqua Club.
With each year, the club worked hard to improve the players and teach the kids to work as a team. At this point, it came to our attention we needed to broaden our horizons.
In 2017, we opened our sport to the Northshore school district. Thus rebranding us to 'Northshore Water Polo'. As an outside organization we can work with all 4 high schools to build teams. We are so excited for this new adventure and to support each high school team.
